On today’s special segment, we have Ted Clark and John Terbell of four bridge partners, Ted and John, if you could share one piece of advice with a young, new investor, what would you tell them?

I would tell them that this is an apprentice business, and you need to find either a team or a person that will give you the opportunity to get reps. We run into so many investors today that have run a million research papers and they’ve hunted down a ton of due diligence calls. They’ve done one piece or this piece, but getting the reps of doing a deal and having the experience from start to finish, whether it’s investing in funds or a company or bonds, whatever it is, full deal reps is optimized for the opportunity to be able to practice that. I would add to that, generationally in person reps. That sounds old fashioned, but so many of the young folks today want to be remote, and I think the best ones in the future will have engaged more in person with their partners, colleagues, entrepreneurs, service providers, whatever face to face reps matter. you want to enter this business, you have to be obsessed. You know, I always say we look for enemies. It’s a strange discussion, but you have to, you have to be led by complete, you know, natural curiosity. You have to want to meet all the founders. You have to want to hear all the ideas. It’s a full time job and more. I mean, it really, it drives your life. And you know, this is not a business to make the quick buck. It doesn’t. It takes a long time. It’s an incredibly rewarding business because, you know, you have access to the most amazing people. You actually get to build these relationships, you know, through ups and downs, right? You have, sometimes, in my best relationship, been with the biggest successes, sometimes the best relationship in the biggest failures. And you know, it’s an order, and you know, to be in this industry, but you have to do it for the right reasons. You know, it’s not, it’s not an industry for the quick back. It’s the industry for the one that has unbelievable, natural intellectual curiosity, amazing. You
